LOHAGARH FORT AND GOVERNMENT MUSEUM - 3 K.m.

BHARATPUR Founded by Great Jat Maharaja Surajmal in 1733 ad has played an important part in the history of RAJASTHAN. It was named as BHARATPUR after the name of BHARAT, The younger brother of Lord RAMA. MAHARAJA SURAJMAL fortified the city by building a massive wall around the city. BHARATPUR is also known as LOHAGARH and fort as LOHAGARH fort (iron fort) that stood solidly in front of many British attacks. Only Lord Lake was successful in capturing it in 1804.
